In February 2001, EEC began its Early Intervention Program. Through this program, services are provided to infants and toddlers birth through 36 months with developmental delays or conditions that place them at risk for developmental delay.
A certified Early Intervention teacher is on staff to provide assessments and ensure that necessary services (i.e., physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy) are available for each child. EEC works in unison with Bay District Schools, Children's Home Society Early Steps program, and United Way of Northwest Florida to operate this program.
Florida's Early Intervention program, Early Steps, is provided by the Children's Medical Services program, a program of The Department of Health, in accordance with IDEA, part C.
